In Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics!

About Me!

Hello!

I'm Helon Dobbins, a current candidate for an M.A. in English Studies. My previous academic background includes a B.A. in English from Young Harris College in 2018, and, in 2022, I was awarded an M.A.  in Global History, also from ASU.

Outside the classroom, I have experience in the museum field. From internships in archives to working as a tour guide at exhibits and historic sites, I approach education as a collaborative effort between the material, myself as the educator, and the public as my audience. I have lectured at events sponsored by academic institutions and collaborated on many historic preservation projects.

Currently based in Atlanta, GA, upon graduation, I hope to pursue my Ph.D overseas. With research involving historic preservation and the use of social media to promote community engagement, I hope to meld my love of writing with my love for historic preservation. (To learn more click the 'Ph.D Research' icon at the sidebar).

In my spare time I can be found with a venti iced latte from Starbucks no matter the season or yapping about Stranger Things among other interests!
